The Third High-level Academic Forum of the School of Geography Held by Faculty of Geographical Science

The Third High-level Academic Forum of the School of Geography was held by Faculty of Geographical Science, Beijing Normal University on November 29th and 30th. This forum expands the horizons of teachers and students and deepens exchanges in related fields.

Ten well-known scholars and teachers attended the forum. Academician Guo Huadong, researcher Wang Xunming, Ge Yong, Liu Liangyun and Yang Xiaoyan from Chinese Academy of Sciences, professor Sun Bindong from East China Normal University, professor Zhou Suhong from Sun Yat-sen University, researcher Zhu Shengjun from Peking University, senior engineer Yao Wenyi from Yellow River Institute of Hydraulic Research and specially-graded teacher Zhao Qing from Beijing Chenjinglun High School were invited to deliver lectures on the forum lasting for two days.

Scholars focused on scientific theories, achievements of frontier fields and hot issues of geographical science and its related fields, covering branches including physical geography, human geography, geographical information system and geographic education, respectively hosted by professor Wu Yongqiu, professor Dong Weihua, associate professor Huang Daquan and lecturer Gao Cuiwei of Beijing Normal University. Professor Su Yun, Secretary of the Party Branch of Faculty of Geographic Science, delivered a welcome speech for the forum. 

Teachers and students said that they learned a lot from the information shared by scholars. “We hope that we will have more chance to exchange and communicate with those well-known scholars in the future.”
